Giants crush Patriots dreams

The 1972 Miami Dolphins can breathe a sigh of relief. New England is undefeated no more.

The New York Giants handed the Patriots their first loss 17-14 in Super Bowl 42 Sunday night as Eli Manning completed one of the best postseasons by a quarterback ever; capping it off with the MVP Award.

With the win, New York pulled off one of the biggest upsets in sports history. The Patriots came in as 12 point favorites and even took the lead with around 3 minutes left. However, The Giants would not be denied. Behind an acrobatic 33 yard catch by David Tyree late; the Giants moved into scoring position. The go ahead score would come a few plays later as Plaxico Burress would catch a fade pass with 35 seconds remaining.

The Patriots following drive would result in no positive yardage; and the Giants would complete the impossible. 19-0 was denied and the history books rewritten.
