Suddenlink Sinks Superbowl Sunday
Despite the fact that the 2008 Super Bowl was the most watched in history, with a record of 97.5 million viewers, residents of Greenville, North Carolina did not see much of it. An exciting match up between the undefeated Patriots and the New York Giants came to an abrupt freeze while watching, attributed to problems experienced by Suddenlink Communications. Like many other residents of Greenville I too felt the effects of the problems with Suddenlink. Surrounded by friends and classmates I gathered at 6:00 p.m to begin celebrating for the Super Bowl. Throughout the first quarter of the game and famous commercials the screen continued to freeze. The second quarter wasn’t any better with only bits and pieces of the game successfully shown. To make matters worse, any attempts at trying to call Suddenlink to ask about the problem were pointless due to jammed phone lines with angry viewers experiencing the same problem. Thanks to Suddenlink I along with others missed a majority of the Super Bowl.
