Super Tuesday
Top media empire, Fox News, covered the Super Tuesday primary elections with great verosity. Ranging in topics from voter’s top concerns, candidate biographies, and the war to the campaign front-runners battle to reach the top spot, Fox News elaborated and shared opinions on every political issue imaginable.
Fox News made it known in more ways than one that this presidential campaign is simply a “horserace”. The tension has been extremely high and no one is sure who is going to come out on top. With Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton so close, the anchors at Fox News expect the two will eventually unite despite Clinton’s increasing attacks towards Obama as he continues to rise in the polls.
Fox News also expressed that the important issue of the war has been disregarded by all presidential front-runners. “No one is talking about the war because no one has a solution for the war,” said a Fox News anchor.
With John Edwards out of the race, Fox News discussed which candidate will get Edwards’ votes. As part of the independent party, voters seem to be supporting Obama more than Clinton. Even though Clinton was positive that she would attain the independent votes, Fox expresses that this over-confidence is pushing voters away.
At the top of all voters’ concerns is the economy. The country appears to be on the verge of recession and during these uncertain economic times, voters are looking for a fresh face and a steady hand that brings change. According to Fox, Obama is believed to be the change that the younger generation, who is less concerned with race and gender than the older generations, is searching for.
With so many issues at hand, Fox discussed each topic from all angles and all perspectives while leaving the ultimate decision up to the viewers.
