The Giants Stomped Down the Field

Super Bowl XLII could arguably be one of the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history. Why is this?

The undefeated New England Patriots lost to the New York Giants Sunday in a nail biting fourth quarter. The Giants took the lead in the beginning of the fourth quarter only to have it taken back by the Patriots. With the Patriots in the lead, 14-10, New York Giants quarter back, Eli Manning, lead the Giants down the field with a touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress with 35 seconds on the clock. The New York Giants won 17-14.

Some say that the key to this victory was the pressure that the Giants put on the Patriots’s quarterback, Tom Brady.

Jimmy Johnson, a Super Bowl commentator, commented that this heart wrenching blow to New England’s head coach, Bill Belichick, would be difficult to overcome, but it can be done with next year’s season.
